Best Behavior

I wrote a book

It's pretty long

spent 7 months on it.

The agent doesn't want it

The book drags

The book isn't anything

just like most of my books

The Insurgent has a plot and a plan

Best Behavior probably won't be

The book is nothing but me ruminating on people I know

Just a bunch of ruminations

I should retitle the book "Ruminations"

It would make more sense then

I really don't want it taken serious as a piece of literature

Because it isn't

It would probably be more enjoyable to anthropology and sociology students than people with English degrees.

I don't think it would drag to a person getting or having a sociology or anthropology degree.

I don't think if I cut the extra pieces in it that were put there to make the book more literary and ironic a person with a deep interest in sociology would read it as somesort of journal and find the parts where I ruminate for pages on a random dishwasher or journalist really intriguing. (That was a really long badly written sentence)

A person that has read a lot of fiction reads it and thinks, "Oh, he should have cut this paragraph, he could have written this line better, he should have left this character out, there isn't enough plot, there is too much plot to be experimental, this is too depressing, he isn't mixing it with high points. His view of humans is too constricted, he can't get 250 pages out of it."

Not every book is good

We all know that

I don't feel bad about the book.

I still like the book.

But I don't think there is a life for it.

I don't know if I have the drive to become a literary superstar and even promote it.

I don't feel like promoting to be honest.

I don't feel like answering interview questions about Best Behavior.

I just looked at Best Behavior for a second

People would read it and think, "The writer hates me."

I want to answer many liberals objections to the Iraq War and then lead into other things

1. There were no weapons of destruction. That is true. There was none. It was 'a noble lie' as Socrates called it. They had to tell a simple lie like that because the average American does not know about the complexities of the oil market nor the complexities of oil geology. Trying to get people to go to war with graphs and charts would not work.

2. That companies like Haliburton made a lot of money from it. The thought process behind that is that the government only went over there to get several companies contracts to build bases.

If that were completely true then why didn't the Bush government just take over a small African nation with barely any military at all and built bases?

3. This is just an oil war.

All right, that one makes sense.

But if it is an oil war.

Why is it an oil war?

From reading about peak oil and reading the graphs and charts on the IEA website. Click the link, world oil production has stopped in the mid eighties per day. This is devastating because the world cannot use oil for economic growth anymore. What they have using oil, is the limit of things using oil. What they and we build now must either use another substance or we must cut other things out that use oil.

And if you look at one chart, it has gone from 87 million per day to the now rate of 84.

This is causing the price of oil to rise.

This is fucking complex.

Way to complex to tell the American people.

This is why Obama is not leaving the middle east.

Okay, but now is the question

SHOULD WE HAVE GONE TO IRAQ AND KILLED A BUNCH OF HUMANS?

The answer is yes if you like this world of cars, roads, suburban sprawl and shit made of plastic.

The answer is probably yes because most Americans love those things even if you don't.

Because readers of this blog are predominately weird and don't count as a demographic.

Most Americans love their shit and think they are entitled to it.

The government if the world made sense

The government could have mandated that no government money went to car companies that produced cars that got less than 30 miles to the gallon.

Maybe forced local governments not to zone or give rebates to car plants that made parts for cars that got less than 30 miles per gallon.

It could have made a list of products made of plastic that weren't necessities to be taken off the market. Which is illegal I think.

The government might mandate no driving on Sundays or a 55 mile per hour speed limit.

It could do a lot of things that a think tank of energy specialists could make up.

But we know that would cause fuck loads of problems.

But there is hope, because this gas for clunkers and all these new energy policies are helping.

Perhaps all these forecloses will help suburban sprawl decrease a little.

What if they were presenting the national book award and I ran up on stage and screamed that Brandon Scott Gorrell should have won.

9-12 protests and Glenn Beck

Today at school in Public Administration class we talked about government efficiency.

A bunch of shitbrains said that government does everything wrong and there should be so little government we only need cops.

I wasn't saying anything the whole class and decided to yell, "No, we don't need interstates, we don't need roads, we don't public services like medicare or medicaid, we don't need services national park services."

Then someone was like, "They don't do anything good."

Then I was like, "We just passed a bill for 250,000 people to be in Americorps to help the homeless. And if you want your Nikes and your Chinese goods we need military protection of shipping lanes."

Then I went further and said, "No, we're in Iraq because we are stabilizing the world oil price. We saw a year ago how the price can get out of control."

I got called a socialist and some republican even said I was 'optimistic.'

I didn't know it was socialist to believe that the government does a good job with national parks, the interstate, policing the shipping lanes and especially being not for but showing the complexity of the Iraq War.

I wrote The Human War as a reaction to the war. Then I studied for years trying to understand why we went there. What I find was that Iraq is integral in stabilizing the price of world oil. Even if Americans don't use Iraq Oil, if WE STILL WANT to drive around cars and have plastic products like cell phones and computers WE NEED the world oil price stabilized.

It is completely impossible to be against the Iraq War if you live in modern civilization using oil based products. Even if you never use Iraq Oil because Iraq Oil is used to stabilize the price.

It seems that people are so ignorant that many of them do not know where roads come, and if they don't know where roads come from they must not know where products come from

Products come by semi-trucks using roads built by the government.

ROADS AND SEMI-TRUCKS REQUIRE OIL

I would like to say that this 'destroy civilization' movement has some great meaning, like that, the people of the world just want society to end. They want it to self-destruct so we could go back to a primitive state or something.

But no

That's not true

A lot of people live shitty little lives and they feel alone. They are bored sitting in their air-conditioned houses, they are bored with their wives and husbands, they don't like their kids, they don't like themselves and they want to be part of something bigger.

Glenn Beck offers them the 'group nonsense'.

Glenn Beck doesn't require thought, he doesn't require any real work, he doesn't require anything but allegiance to him and his insanity.

Glenn Beck feeds on bitterness, because Glenn Beck is bitter himself. Glenn Beck is an uneducated fuckhead who no one has ever taken seriously. No professor, no politician, nobody cares about what he has to say and they never will.

He is that guy at the bar who has led a shitty little life, who talks endlessly, spouting one nonsense opinion after another, that even the other drinkers at the bar eventually walk away from.

The guy from The Young Turks is right, eventually they might become violent. But the Glenn Beck people don't know they only number like 2 million people. And most of them are total cowards.

I hope we don't see two years from now a horrible violent protest where several thousand Glenn Beckers get their asses kicked in by riot control police.

Of course if that happens everyone will see how truly fucked they are.

James Traficant

I grew up with James Traficant. He has been releases from prison no one has can stop talking about it.

Traficant ruled my area for years.

Seriously

He really didn't do anything.

He let the downtown area turn into ruins. He let old beautiful buildings turn into shit. Instead of taking care of them, hoping for another bright day. He let trees and weeds grow on the roofs. Which led to the rain seeping through the roof, which lead to the buildings being destroyed. Millions of dollars in rain damage occurred when he was in control.

Seriously

The guy talks endlessly but he couldn't have hired someone with a broom to clean the roofs of buildings.

When he was in control barely any businesses or factories came to the area.

After 7 years of him being gone, the downtown is beautiful, full of new businesses that had nothing to do with him.

Some new factories have been built.

Jay Williams and Tim Ryan, not the greatest talkers got the money to have the empty houses demolished. Empty houses which are horrible, because they are ugly, they bring in flies in the summer, homeless sleep in them, and they bring down property values are being demolished everyday.

There is a group called Grow Youngstown and Trees Pleeze which are planting things on those lands.

There is another group which got a lot of the land to just go back to nature. They let the land that was once a groups of houses, they allow nature to return and take over the area. The group I think considers abandoned houses to be giant pieces of litter.

The mob currently has little to no influence on the area.

The area has made great strides in quality of life.

James Traficant did really nothing to help that.

If James Traficant really wanted to help people, say the thing she mentioned about prisons. He would decide to work for inmate advocacy or something. He wouldn't run for congress.

If he had any real interest in America or humanity he would spend his days doing volunteer work helping the community.

He would have come back and applauded how downtown looked.

He would have applauded some of the new social and volunteer programs in the area.

He has done none of that.

He is just enjoys power and attention like a little kid.

A lot of democrats have health care

A lot of democrats don't care about the public option

I'm gonna say it, but a lot of people that don't have health probably don't vote.

It is like, kissing drug addicts' asses. Drug addicts don't vote, why are politicans going to care.

People voted in Obama because republicans are obviously nuts, they started two fucked up endless wars and fucked up the economy, at least one of their fucked up policies pissed everyone off. Republicans also obviously completely dislike everyone but white males.

The only thing the democrats need to do is maintain. They can improve a little here and there, build some bridges, give some pork, send out some federal pell grants, do the stem cell thing, and they will be all right.

yesterday I was in public administration class at YSU

the class was full of whites and blacks who are either poor or almost poor in terms of American money.

A bunch of political science kids who think they are doing to have money and be awesome.

These assholes sat there and bitched about poor people

One fat girl told a story about working at a supermarket and a poor black woman living in shithole project housing had some money left on her food stamp card and bought a couple of lobsters with it.

Another person bitched that the poor got too good of health care.

Another person bitched that they don't want health care because they don't want to ever stop smoking two packs a day and eating as much as cheese as they want.

Being in New York City with people who actually have money I noticed that rich people who have graduated from good schools never bitch about poor people. They don't give a fuck what poor do, they know they are sad and disfranchised emotionally. They don't bitch.

But people that are poor and somewhat poor who hold jobs, think they are fucking awesome and have the right to shit on people living in section eight housing.

It made it really obvious to me how shitty political science majors because I have a sociology class before and after that class, and in my opinion sociology and social worker majors are the friars of the 21st century.

The sociology kids are so nice, they care about people. Sociology has a lot of women and men who understand humanity is fucked up and we need to give them a break.

There are a lot of overweight black women who are sociology majors. Because I think if you a smart caring overweight black woman, you probably know more than anybody in this society what it means to be shit on for no fucking reason. To be hated and discouraged and stifled more than anybody. But they rise above it and say, "I know we all have problems, even the hatefull bastards have problems."

I personally don't give a fuck if an overweight black woman in the projects buys some lobsters with food stamps. Her life sucks, she's already got a bunch of self-loathing dumb white fucks against her, she's got all the self-loathing uncle tom blacks against her, she's got the media against her, she's got Glenn Beck and all of his little dirty evil minions against her. Let her enjoy some fucking lobster. Let her have some pleasure. She probably fucking walked to the supermarket. Probably walked through the snow in the middle of cold ass winter to get those lobsters.

But that's what blue collar people on the verge of poor care about. I used to work for a classy banquet hall and rich people from this area would have 10,000 dollar wedding receptions, with tables of fillets, with expensive bands, with expensive, they had so much money they could blow 10,000 to 15,000 in one fucking day. That is a lot more absurd than an overweight black woman spending her food stamps on lobster.

If our country has any meaning, is any realy beacon of light, it is that an overweight black woman after having kids while still in highschool fights like a dog to live all through her 20s raising those kids, then in her 30s gets the urge to take charge of her life, goes back to school in her 30s, fights through it all, and gets her college degree not to become rich, she doesn't become an engineer, she doesn't become a lawyer or doctor, she doesn't go back for money. She goes back to get a sociology degree to help other people, who were just like herself just a few years before.
