Why Gore and Obama are screaming about Ten Years

This is an article on the rate of oil exports

The model that in ten years major oil producing countries won't be exporting oil in ten years.

So we only have ten years.

And if we won't be getting oil for ten years from the new drilling, well that will make a dent, because it will be the only oil we have.

It seems like the Barack and McCain might actually know what is going on.

But why wouldn't they say it?

They could crash the markets by saying it, they could make things even worse by predicting something horrible. If stock brokers go into panic by some random person in a government announcing they might bomb Iran, it causes them to start paying anything on oil stocks. Then if a president was like, "Oil is going to be rationed for sure by the end of my presidency."

What kind of panic on wall-street would that cause:

It is a paradox, if you try to do something, then you might end up destroying it more.

I don't think Americans would care if Barack started screaming about energy in terms of the reality of it.

I work like with like 80 people, all they care about is checking their voice mails and text messaging and the television show "house."

America needs to bring its oil consumption down to like 2 million a day by 2018. We are going to do it by letting the economy collapse.

If we let it all collapse then people will then people won't be able to drive and buy plastic crap.

Norman Cantor said that people let civilizations fall because they become a burden, they become not worth caring about anymore because they are such a hassle. I think that is how people feel, let it all fall. Why not, maybe I won't have to pay my credit card bill back, my student loan bill, my mortgage, maybe I won't have to flip through so many stations anymore, maybe I won't have to do so any absurd things to appear normal.

I don't know.

They sure as fuck don't care though, it isn't like the information isn't there. All you have do is go online, watch the stocks stations, or read some newspapers. The facts are staring everyone in the face.

After nearly two decades of an uninterrupted consumption binge, most Americans simply refuse to believe that anything can seriously derail the American economy. It's a pleasant dream, but the wakeup call can't be too far off.
